Content Management Systems vs Fixed HTML

Often Rage Web Design work hard explaining to customers that content management systems are often very troublesome when it comes to SEO. Sometimes we have to work on our clients behalf within them.

Content management systems are excellent especially for shops with many products. If you are considering taking on a new project using a content management system make sure the content management system is compliant with W3C standards (If not check there are only minor errors in the coding and better still get them fixed.) Then when you have filled your content management system - get it checked over by a good SEO Web Designer; they will be looking for things and can correct you on things in your site that you were unlikely to have been aware of. Your site from the visitors point of view is often very different to how you may have expected.

Content Management Systems only reach their potential in the right hands - if you have a content management system you are struggling with feel free to contact us for fast friendly effective help.

Productive Meeting

A productive meeting today with MC Glass of Bexhill who install windows and conservatories. After a realisation that they need to increase the information base and content level of their website to enhance and expand on the search engine phrases they can be found for.

brochure request facility
basic news blog
localised ongoing portfolio are just some of the proposed implementations.

MC Glass have also invested in some istock images to enhance the site whilst their portfolio grows.

Copyright Issue

The other day Rage Web Design received a phonecall - “someones been using my portfolio images on their website”. A long standing client who are manufacturers of booth seating was not happy.

The CHEEK of it.

A few direct phonecalls and Rage Web Design was rewarded with the offending party removing the images. This particular customer has been conducting a very successful SEO campaign with Rage Web Design for over four years now - unfortunately such exposure to the outside market means this comes with the high risk that their portfolio could be stolen.

Luckily its very easy to prove when an image was launched to a particular website. We also recommend however that you (and we) always hold onto the original file even if it is now online.

If in doubt. Don’t steal images. Try stock photography images.
